The Narrowboat

The Narrowboat is a hidden gem and the only pub situated directly on Regents Canal in Islington. Beautifully tucked away from the hustle and bustle for those who enjoy relaxing with friends and family. We have a fantastic range of cask ales and craft beers and spirits, as well as a beautiful selection of fine wines. Our food is seasonal and fresh with some amazing British classics and a few modern inventions of our own. Starting with brunch, all the way through to our canal inspired, favourite fish mains, and delicious desserts.

The Narrowboat

This pub is based along the canal and has fantastic views - all windows face the canal and there are additional outdoor balcony seats. It has an unusual narrow layout, true to its name, and is probably better for smaller rather than larger groups of humans and dogs because it can get cramped. Dogs are allowed everywhere. It serves the usual human pub food, with a decent range, but similar to most other pubs. They also have a good range of board games, to entertain the humans (it is hard work constantly keeping them busy!). It is extremely dog friendly. One of the waiters came and gave me a plateful of treats (at least 6 or 7!) which I greedily ate all (but 1) of before human could get a picture. That is why I look a little grumpy and serious - I don’t understand humans and their need for photographs, inhale and enjoy the food whilst you can I say! The container the food came in also became a great temporary playtoy. I give this place 3 paws, as a dog I enjoyed myself immensely, being able to look at the view of people, boats, dogs going past (and occasionally barking a hello). Two other dogs attended this pub whilst I was there, so it is popular amongst dog-kind.

Unfortunately it's only their courtyard and bar that are dog-friendly, the restaurant isn't.

This is our local pub and we love going here as they are so welcoming and dog friendly! Dogs welcome in the bar/ restaurant area and outside in their garden/ courtyard too. The humans say they do really good roast dinners and yummy desserts!

Loved it here! They took us in last minute when we were let down by our booking with Brindisa 2 doors down. We were even allowed to sit indoors. The humans loved their cocktails and food - Turkish twist on brunch! The chefs even made me my own pup friendly bacon and eggs. I saw they offered a fellow pup a doggy bed to use which is a nice touch but I preferred to use my own bag for a post brunch nap.

Well behaved doggos on leads are welcome inside this festive event! It gets a bit busy so I stayed mostly in my bag but I enjoyed stealing some of the humans bratwurst and even got my own puppacino from the bar!
