Chelsea is one of THE most dog friendly neighbourhoods in London (if not the whole UK) so what better place to celebrate National Dog Day and our love for our four-legged friends for the other 364 days of the year!
Centered around the King's Road, the area is filled with retail businesses, cafes, restaurants and pubs whose doors are always open to pooches but this August 27th will be even more special for dog owners as it sees the first ever Chelsea Dog Day.
We worked with Cadogan Estates and our friend May who has been finding fabulous places for pooches in the area since 2013 and sharing her finds with us on her blog, to put together a fabulous day for dogs and their owners.
Get your humans to start at Duke of York Square for a spot of shopping at the Four Legged Foodies Market. You will find something for every pooch including grooming gifts from Sniffe & Likkit, beds from Luna With Me, leads, collars, harnesses and accessories from Bashe, Hiro + Wolf, Westley, Hilary's Hounds, Pugalier of London, Reg & Bob and Sociable Pup Company, art and portraits by Kitty Draws Dogs, Dogsdogscatsdogs, Pet Portrait Illustration and The Pawtrait Gallery, and of course treats galore from ByBenji, The Dog House, Caboodle, W'Zis, Nuts For Pets, Different Dog, Happy Paws and Claws, Love My Human and The Rockster.
After all that shopping, pop across the road to Peter Jones where photographer Andrew of Raven Imagery will have a pop-up studio on the 2nd floor, offering a free 10-15 minute session for every pooch.
You will then be ready for a rest and refreshments so call in to any of the wonderful dog friendly eateries including Polpo, Rabbit and Bluebird.
Better still you can book your place here at the Pooch Party at 28-50 where humans and dogs will be served drinks and canapes.
Finish off the day with another great free photo-shoot with Jonny Bosworth and see how the images can be turned into beautiful digital art by Ryan (Woof Portraits) who will be at Papersmith's on Pavilion Road. This is a timed event so you will need to book your slot here.
Don't forget to pick up your reward for being a good pooch all day - a wrapped bone from Provenance Butchers!!
